A small business has been dealt a shocking blow with a man and woman allegedly ramming their way through a glass shopfront to raid the showroom floor.
Security footage shows the moment Kyabram Motorcycles and Mowers was targeted by a ute.
The footage shows people dashing inside to grab two off-road motorcycles and gear worth about $30,000.
The shop was due to open after the Christmas break on January 3, but the culprits struck at 4.15am.
Shop co-owner Nic Johnson said the store had only opened for business about three months ago.
He and his apprentice spent the first day back from Christmas holidays cleaning the shop.
“Glass debris was through everything,” he said.
“It sprayed about half way down the showroom floor.
“We spent Tuesday pulling out all of the existing stock and sorting things out.
“There was a lot to do to make the shop safe enough to let customers come back in.
“We were able to reopen on Wednesday.”
Victoria Police said they were looking for the culprits.
“Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a ram raid in Kyabram on January 3,” police media said in a statement.
“They have stolen a Sherco brand motorcycle, before returning 10 minutes later to steal a second Sherco motorcycle and motorcycle gear.”
Investigators are searching for a white Nissan Navara twin-cab ute with a canopy, bull bar, snorkel, circle spot lights and smashed back windscreen.
Police have released descriptions of two alleged offenders wearing hoods and gloves and face coverings.
The male is about 183cm tall, thin build wearing navy track pants and a black jumper with a face covering and a black cap and black Asics brand shoes with a red logo.
The woman is about 165cm tall with a medium build and wearing strappy sandals.
Mr Johnson said he felt fairly confident police would solve the crime.
“The security footage is really clear,” he said.
“We have had a lot of community support, with lots of people sharing the footage online, making sure a lot of people see it.”
Officers believe the bike may have been seen in the Mooroopna area.
