Truck driver dead after hitting tree near Bendigo
A truck driver has died after it is believed he hit a tree southwest of Bendigo in the early hours of the morning.

A truck driver has died after a crash near Bendigo early on Thursday morning.
The rig was travelling along Newbridge Rd in Shelbourne before it is believed the driver struck a fallen tree and left the road.
Emergency services were alerted just before 4am after a passer by found the scene.
Sadly the male driver, who was the only occupant of the truck, died at the scene.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the coroner.
