Thousands of music fans have flocked to Victoria’s north to catch a glimpse of their favourite artists at one of the state’s biggest festivals.

Groovin the Moo made its triumphant return to Bendigo on Saturday headlined by UK DJ Fatboy Slim, as fans from across the state partied their way into the Bendigo Showgrounds from 11am and planned to stay long into the night.

While most in attendance made the two hour journey from Melbourne, there was a strong local and regional presence at the festival.

Eden and Phil from Ballan in the state’s west said they “locked this festival in” as soon as they heard about it.

“It’s a long drive but totally worth it in the end, we love coming here and wouldn’t miss it,” Phil said.

The festival was also a chance for Brian and Erin, a father-daughter festival duo who have attended the biggest festivals across the state together for years.

“We hadn’t been to one together since before Covid and it’s something we love doing,” Erin said.
