A suspended Victorian teacher arrested at a Bendigo school last year over alleged child sexual abuse claims has been accused of committing further sexual offences while on bail.
The 35-year-old Spring Gully man is facing multiple child sexual abuse charges, including the penetration of a child.
A Bendigo court heard on Wednesday that some of the matters before the court had “resolved”, while the more “serious” allegations against the man head towards the County Court.
The suspended teacher appeared via video link in a closed court session. He cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim.
The accused child rapist was arrested at a Bendigo school on August 28 last year, charged with multiple counts of penetrating a child under 16 that allegedly occurred in Greater Bendigo in May and August.
He was released on bail on August 29 and is accused of committing further sexual offences while on bail.
Police allege the suspended teacher groomed a child while on bail in September and October 2023.
The case was adjourned to February 21.
