Owner of Borough Fish Shop on High St in Eaglehawk killed in horror Averys Rd crash

A 60-year-old White Hills man who was killed in a horrific car crash over the weekend has been remembered as a “funny bugger” who made great fish and chips.

A 60-year-old White Hills man who was killed in a horrific car crash over the weekend has been remembered as a “funny bugger” who made great fish and chips.

Owner of Borough Fish Shop on High St in Eaglehawk, known to the community as “Will”, was killed in a crash with a motorbike on Averys Rd about 10.30pm Saturday night.

Both Will and the 18-year-old Eaglehawk motorcyclist tragically died at the scene before 11.30pm.

Will and his wife had owned the Borough Fish Shop for nine years prior to the crash and he was well-known in Eaglehawk for making “great fish”.

The fish and chip shop has closed temporarily following his death, with a sign on the door stating: “Sorry, due to the passing of Will, the shop will be closed for the next few days. Apologies for any inconvenience”.

Those who knew him remembered him as a lovely man and a “funny bugger”.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
