The RSPCA has taken a Wedderburn woman to court accusing her of animal cruelty, starving two dogs and withholding veterinary treatment when they were sick.
Kerri Michelle Cawood, 45, faced Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with animal cruelty by the RSPCA.
The RSPCA will allege in court Ms Cawood committed acts of cruelty on a female rottweiler cross dog named Nisa by starving her and withholding veterinary treatment between November 2022 and January 2023.
The RSPCA will also allege she starved and unreasonably failed to provide veterinary treatment for a male Mastiff cross dog named Archie.
Ms Cawood also allegedly failed to comply with a Prevention of Cruelty to Animals notice in December 2022.
Ms Cawood’s lawyer Karin Temperley indicated to the court the accused would be contesting the cruelty charges.
Magistrate Domonic Lennon adjourned the case to June for a contest mention.
