Kennington man charged after Bendigo police chase down alleged gang of dirt bike hoons

A Kennington man has been charged after a group of hoons on dirt bikes allegedly fled police in a late-night, high-speed pursuit, while two riders remain on the run.

Police have charged a man after allegedly chasing down a gang of hoons on dirt bikes in a high-speed, late-night pursuit in Bendigo.

A Kennington man has been charged following an allegedly “dangerous” police pursuit in Bendigo.

Witnesses reported lights and sirens following the sound of dirt bikes flying at high speeds down suburban streets in East Bendigo in the early hours of Saturday.

Police attempted to intercept the alleged hoons on Strickland Rd about 12.25am.

The riders allegedly fled police and were chased onto Murphy St.

Allegedly, three of the bikes and two riders fled on foot after at least one rider came off his bike on Murphy St.

Police have charged a man after allegedly chasing down a gang of hoons on dirt bikes in a high-speed, late-night pursuit in Bendigo.

There were no injuries.

A 31-year-old Kennington man was arrested at the scene and charged with dangerous driving whilst being pursued and other motorcycle offences.

A 16-year-old boy, who allegedly continued riding, returned to the scene a short time later was interviewed by police.

The other two riders remain at large and the investigation is ongoing.
