Bendigo police chase during school drop off traffic in Eaglehawk

Parents dropping their kids off at school had to swerve to avoid a driver speeding on the wrong side of the road during a police chase through Bendigo this morning.

Parents dropping their kids off at school had to swerve to avoid a driver speeding on the wrong side of the road during a police chase through Bendigo.

Multiple people reported nearly being driven off the road in an attempt to avoid the erratic driver as he fled police through Eaglehawk on Tuesday morning.

The white Subaru Forester was seen being pursued by police as he drove on the wrong side of Howard St, where he nearly collided with a woman.

It was later seen driving at high speed along Averys Rd past the Neangar Park Golf Club.

Multiple police pursued the driver, with the air wing circling over Eaglehawk, witnesses reported.

One witness said it was “scary” seeing the white Subaru almost collide with oncoming cars who were forced to slam on their brakes and swerve off the road to avoid being hit.

Police have been contacted for comment.
