It’s been a horror 24 hours on the roads in regional Victoria, with one woman killed and another fighting for life after separate crashes.
A woman in her 20s died after the car she was driving hit a tree in Epsom, a suburb of Bendigo, on Thursday night.
Police investigators have been told a car was travelling along Wallenjoe Rd about 11pm when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
Two passengers in the car managed to get out and contact emergency services.
The female driver, believed to be a woman in her 20s, was trapped in the car for a short while until she was freed.
She was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died.
And two women have been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a head-on crash in Glenhope, near Kyneton, on Friday.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said the two cars collided on Burke and Wills Track about 10.30am.
A woman, who was the sole occupant of one of the vehicles, has been flown to the Alfred Hospital with life threatening injuries and is in a critical condition.
The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 60s, was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries and is believed to be in a stable condition. A male passenger also in his 60s, has minor injuries and was taken to Bendigo Health.
