34-year-old man flown to hospital after ‘suspected stabbing’ at Loddon Prison, Castlemaine

Detectives have descended on a medium security Central Victorian prison following a “suspected stabbing”.
Police were called to Loddon Prison on Matheson Rd in Chewton, 2km outside Castlemaine, on Monday just after 3pm.
A 34-year-old man was flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
It is unclear if the man was an inmate or a staff member.
Detectives will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, a police spokeswoman said.
