Two young thugs are on the run after causing damage to a Wonthaggi car wash in a midnight attack.

Senior Sergeant Scott Morison told The Bass Coast News two men destroyed a vending machine at Ezyas Car Wash & Laundrette just before midnight on Saturday, April 17.

“They threw a rock at the front window of the machine,” Sen-Sgt Morison said.

“And kicked it as well.”

Owner Wes Weir said he was frustrated to hear about the $500 worth of damage as it’s not the first time his McKenzie St business had been targeted by thugs.

“The last time someone tried to break in they caused $30,000 worth of damage,” he said.

“It’s just disappointing.”

Since opening 13 years ago, Mr Weir’s car wash has been vandalised and broken into around eight times.

“I’m always left with the clean-up and I’m always left with a massive excess on my insurance,” he said.

“The little mongrels keep getting away with it and their life goes on.”

If you have any information about the incident, call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
