The only place with rapid antigen tests in-stock on the Bass Coast

Rapid antigen tests are in short supply across the country, but there’s one store on the Bass Coast that has them in stock. Find out where.

After Covid testing requirements changed, Victorians have been desperately searching for rapid antigen tests as case numbers soar.

But they are few and far between.

RATs have been on backorder around the Bass Coast for more than a week and chemists haven’t been told when to expect another delivery.

Most stores have been out-of-stock for two weeks with some expecting tests to arrive on Friday.

It comes as many businesses in the area have been forced to shut down because of lack of staff.

Family-run San Remo post office, Newsagent and Lotto closed last week after staff were required to get a test after becoming close contacts for a positive case.

Phillip Island Hotel closed for three days. The business said it was operating on limited staff and could not afford more people being forced into isolation.

Testing sites in the region have also been under the pump and have reported periods of closing the lines an hour after opening.
