Schoolies caused thousands in damage when they held a “rave” on top of a storage shed at Phillip Island which caved in and trapped four people inside.
CCTV shows the schoolies wreaking havoc at The Jetty after thousands of school leavers descended on the coast in record numbers.
Owner Gabriel Caffieri said he had temporarily fixed the broken unit but it would not be repaired until the end of summer.
“I need a crane truck to get it out of the area,” he said.
“I’ve put some plywood on the top panel for now to keep the weather out, we’ll see what happens when the rain comes.”
Mr Caffieri said it had caused $5000 in damage and it wasn’t as straightforward as getting a new roof.
It comes after Ocean Reach Brewery in Cowes also had its fibreglass seating broken and holes throughout their outdoor furniture.
Mr Caffieri said he cleaned up broken bottles in the area every morning despite the extra bins installed by council in preparation for the school leavers.
“There’s around 20 bins in front of the Jetty, but I reckon all of them are empty,” he said.
“During the Grand Prix, they don’t sell bottles at the bottles shops, I don’t understand why they can’t do that now.”
In previous years, tables have been thrown in the water, fixed-tables ripped out from the ground, gates broken and signs damaged.
“There’s nothing wrong with them having fun, but it needs to be contained,” Mr Caffieri said.
