A strong and successful business woman who dominates the beauty industry has taken out the title for the best hairdresser in the Bass Coast.

A strong business woman has taken out the title for Bass Coast’s best hairdresser as nominated by our readers.
Grantville’s Sarah Azzato started her business Hair by Sarah Azzato more than 20 years ago.
She continues to dominate the industry after winning Bass Coast Business People’s Choice Award in 2019.
“I’m so humbled that a small home business could grow into what it has become now,” she said.
“It’s definitely been a challenging 18 months with Covid lockdowns and not knowing what the future holds but to see my clients everyday has got me through.”
Ms Azzato said her determination motivated her to start her business when she was only 19.
“I was very young at the time and wanted to prove to myself that I could run a salon with 10 staff at 19 years old which I did for over 10 years,” she said.
“I then moved to the Bass Coast and have now been running it here for almost 10 years.”
Ms Azzato said thanked her husband Anthony and talented team.
She said she hoped to expand her business in the future.
“Hopefully I can find another apprentice and maybe find a bigger space as we have definitely outgrown this one,” she said.
