Police searching for offenders who broke in Inverloch BP and Korumburra BP in the early hours of the morning

Vandals have broken into two BP petrol stations in South Gippsland and Bass Coast to steal a stack of cigarettes.

Police are on the hunt for a group of thieves who raided two service stations across Gippsland.

A police spokesperson said the offenders smashed their way into the BP service station on Williams St in Inverloch about 3am on Thursday.

“The offenders managed to force entry to the store’s cigarette cabinet and left with an unknown quantity of cigarettes,” the spokesperson said.

The doors of the premises have since been replaced.

About half an hour later, the thieves broke into the BP service station on Commercial St in Korumburra, again stealing cigarettes.

Bass Coast detectives suspect the two break-ins are linked.

Anyone with more information, witnessed one of the incidents, has CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers Victoria on 1800 333 000, submit a confidential report online, call the Inverloch police station on (03) 5674 1202 or the Korumburra police station on (03) 5655 1244.
