The Korumburra Golf Club president says a man who broke in and took a golf cart for a joy ride caused significant damage.

Police said a man unlocked a roller door to the club about 2.30am on Friday before riding a golf cart around the course.

President Rob Gallagher says it was a significant blow to the club which had suffered because of Covid-19.

“We have now had to get the locks replaced and changed, another cost which is detrimental to the club. It has already been a difficult time financially for the club, without break-ins added to the mix,” they said.
