A driver has died after their car crashed into a tree in central Gippsland.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Willung Rd, Rosedale, just before 1pm on Friday.
“The yet-to-be formally identified driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.”
Willung Rd has been closed between Rice Rd and Mitchells Rd as authorities investigate the crash.
It has taken the state road toll to 50, compared to 63 lives lost on Victorian roads this time in March last year.
