Police, the CFA and the SES were called to an incident on a street in West Gippsland where one person was found dead.

One person has been found deceased on a street in West Gippsland.

Police, CFA and SES crews were called to the scene on Bowen St in Warragul about noon on Wednesday.

A CFA volunteer was seen spraying the road with a hose.

The street was temporarily closed off and police redirected traffic through Grevillea Ct.

Authorities remained on scene for several hours before clearing out just before 3pm.
