Whether it was for school camps or family outings, most Victorians have visited the iconic A Maze’ N Things in Phillip Island.
Now the popular attraction is on the market for the first time in 30 years.
Geoff Moed, who opened the site in 1991, told The Bass Coast News he was ready for his next adventure.
He said he was already thinking about selling the business before Covid hit and had loved seeing people enjoy themselves.
“Every time you add something new, more people come and then they keep coming back,” he said.
“We have kids of people who use to work for us, parents who came when they were in primary school coming back regularly.
“Half the kids on the island had birthday parties here.”
Mr Moed said the most challenging part of the business was keeping motivated and thinking of new attractions to introduce.
“It’s still got so much potential, it’s a prime tourist destination and in great location,” he said.
“Particularly once Covid settles down things will go crazy on the island.”
The complex is operated as three separate businesses known as A Maze’ N Things Theme Park, A Maze’ N Things Holiday Park and Motel & Rusty Water Brewery Restaurant & Bar.
Mr Moed said the accommodation and restaurant were currently being leased.
“If people wanted to buy those businesses, that would depend on negotiations,” he said.
The theme park has a range of interactive displays, optical illusions, magic exhibitions, mazes, minigolf and ropes course.
The accommodation comprises of 18 motel rooms, 15 cabins, 11 powered and 54 annual sites and two camping sites.
Although Mr Moed wouldn’t disclose the amount he wanted the business to sell for, he said he was “expecting more than what I’ll get”.
Expression of interests are now open.
A Maze’ N Things is located 139 kilometres south west of the Melbourne CBD on Phillip Island Rd in Cowes.
