Phillip Island Circuit: Motorcyclist in critical condition after ‘ride day’ crash

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a horror high-speed crash at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

A man in his 50s is being treated for serious head wounds following a horror high-speed motorcycle crash at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in the State’s south.

Emergency Services were called to the scene on Back Beach Road around 11am on Monday, according to a spokeswoman for Ambulance Victoria.

“A man believed to be in his 50s is being treated at the scene for a head injury,” she said.

“He is in a serious condition.”

He was later flown to Alfred Hospital where the spokeswoman said he remains in a critical condition with serious head injuries.

It’s understood he was injured during a Phillip Island Ride Day, which allows members of the public to access the track under controlled conditions.

Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit was contacted for comment.
