Man and woman taken to hospital following two-car collision on Walhalla Rd and Coopers Creek Rd, Rawson

A man and a woman were taken to hospital following a two-car collision in Gippsland’s north.

Two people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Gippsland’s north.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Walhalla Rd and Coopers Creek Rd in Rawson about 4.30pm on Friday.

Four people involved in the crash were assessed by paramedics.

“ A man in his 70s was treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital in a stable condition,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

“A woman in her 60s was treated for an upper body injury and taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital in a stable condition.”

Erica & District Fire Brigade shared a post to their Facebook page thanking the Tyers Fire Brigade for their support.

“The roads are wet and muddy due to recent road works,” the brigade wrote.

“Please take care on the roads this long weekend.”

Also on Friday, emergency services, — including police, a Melbourne dive team and a tow truck — were called to an incident on Northways Rd in Churchill after reports of a vehicle going into a lake.

It’s understood the driver did not sustain any injuries.
