A man who was killed in a tragic single car rollover in the Woolamai Hills has been remembered as a “larrikin” loved by many.
The 33-year-old father, Travis, was killed on Wednesday when his car rolled in the Woolamai Hills.
Police believe the Venus Bay man was driving a Holden rodeo ute along Trew Rd when he veered off the road and the car rolled into bushland just before 4pm.
He has been remembered by friends as a “diamond in the rough”.
“Despite his young age, Travis lived life to the full. He battled daily against so many hardships and traumas of the past….however, he never let those experiences harden his heart. His life was tough, but he was always the first to reach out and help others in need,” the page reads.
It says his “infectious, larrikin spirit and enormous heart & soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him”.
Travis “transformed his life” after moving from Werribee and living rough in Grantville with his Staffy Marley.
He moved his sick mum down from Queensland and they were “making a forever home in Venus Bay”.
He leaves behind his mother who requires medical care and his “brood” of dogs.
“His mother will struggle to cover his funeral expenses, pay her rent and care for all the animals left in her care on her disabled pension. While she has been gifted an old car, it is unregistered (unroadworthy) and on its last legs . . . so she is very isolated and without a means of transport,” the page reads.
Travis was a brother, son, friend and father who will be “deeply missed by all those that knew him”.
