A Gippsland woman crashed her car into a parked vehicle in Warragul and fled the scene, a court has heard.
Sharaya Evans, 21, pleaded guilty at the Latrobe Valley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to one charge of failing to give information to a driver.
The court heard Evans was driving on Waratah Dr in Warragul when she smashed into a parked car on July 29 last year.
The owner of the car went outside their home to see Evans fleeing the scene on foot.
Police then searched Evan’s vehicle and identified her after finding her details in her purse.
The owner of the car nominated Evans on July 30 last year as the driver who damaged his vehicle.
The next month, police tried to contact Evans but she did not answer her phone, the court heard.
Evans eventually went to the Warragul police station and refused to be interviewed.
Magistrate Tim Walsh noted Evans had no priors and she was remorseful for her actions, placing her on a three-month good behaviour bond.
No conviction was recorded.
