Gippsland’s first spring racing cup of the year took action this week — a race that stops the Latrobe Valley.

Racegoers flocked to the green fields of the Moe Racing Club to kick off the Ladbrokes Moe Cup at 11.30am on Friday.

Guests dressed to impress for a sunny day, which was 28C.

Racegoers got on the punt, sat back with an ice cold beverage and entered into the fashions on the field competition for their chance to win some incredible prizes.

Our Herald Sun reporter roamed across the venue and took plenty of photos of people soaking up the sunshine and clinking glasses with their family and friends.
