A Korumburra father of three is in jail over allegedly threatening to kill someone over wanting a bath.

Jacob Quinne, 26, appeared in the Korumburra Magistrates Court on Monday where he was facing a charge of criminal damage and a charge of making a threat to kill.

Mr Quinne accepted he caused damage but denied making any threats to kill.

Just before 12pm on November 13, 2022 Mr Quinne attended the home of an acquaintance.

He allegedly kicked in the garage door to enter the home, while the victim “lay in their bed in fear”.

When the victim came out into the lounge room, they found Mr Quinne and he demanded he be allowed to take a bath.

He was asked to leave and when he didn’t the victim told Mr Quinne they would call the police.

Mr Quinne became enraged by this and allegedly said “If you call the police and I go to jail again, I will kill you and everyone you know”.

The victim told police while they weren’t afraid for their life, she was concerned Mr Quinne would hurt someone else as he “was the jealous type”.

Eventually the police were called and Mr Quinne escaped the home through a backdoor on foot.

Later in the evening when Mr Qunnie was found by police and when interviewed said he hadn’t been at the address.

Magistrate Ann Collins gave a sentence indication and said in February, when he returned to court she would be prepared to release him from custody where he had spent 60 days already as of Monday.

Upon his release he would be placed on a “lengthy” community corrections order.

Magistrate Collins told Mr Quinne he was “running out of chances”.

“Your behaviour needs to change,” she said.

Mr Quinne accepted the sentence indication.
