Inverloch cyclist flown to hospital after being struck by car

An elderly man has been flown to hospital after he was hit by a car at Inverloch.

A man has been flown to hospital after it is believed he was struck by a car at Inverloch on Wednesday morning.

The 75-year-old male is believed to have been hit by a car as he was cycling along Surf Parade at Inverloch about 10am.

Paramedics were called to the scene and treated him for upper body injuries.

He was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition.

The female driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.

This comes as the Transport Accident Commission released figures showing Victoria had recorded its worst monthly pedestrian death toll in more that a decade this July.
