Father killed after Dalyston crash remembered by loved ones

A young father has been remembered as a “beautiful soul” after he was tragically killed in a collision with a garbage truck this week.

The community is mourning the loss of an “amazing guy” who was tragically killed in a collision on Tuesday.

Daniel Campbell, 34, was a “well known” member of the community after growing up in Bass Coast before moving to Pearcedale.

Friend Jacinta Audsley said she used to call him “uncle” and had fond memories of spending time with him.

“He’d always show up at the farm I lived in,” she said.

“He was the most amazing guy, was always helpful, always rode motorbikes with me with I was little.”

She added she was “shocked” and “lost for words” at the news of the young father’s death.

“He used to enjoy our pool parties,” she said. “I’m still in shock.”

Mr Campbell leaves behind his mum, dad, children and other family.

People have taken to social media to remember him.

Dani Walker remembered him as a mischievous person with a “beautiful soul”.

Funeral details will be posted at a later date.

Mr Campbell died when the car he was travelling in collided with a garbage truck at Dalyston before 6am on Tuesday.

His female passenger and the truck driver were not injured.
