A plucky pair of children had to be rescued after becoming stuck up a large tree in their Latrobe Valley front yard.

Emergency services including police, Ambulance Victoria, the SES and three Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to the Donald St address in Morwell about 5.50pm on Tuesday.

When they arrive they found the children stuck in the tree about 10m from the ground.

A FRV spokesperson said a firefighter climbed the tree to comfort the children — aged four and eight — until a ladder long enough to reach them arrived

“Once on scene, the ladder platform was used to retrieve the children, and they were brought to the ground safely at 6.10pm,” the FRV spokesperson said.
