Elderly woman taken to hospital after crashing into Warragul Country Club on Sutton St

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after she accidentally ploughed her car into a West Gippsland country club.

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after she accidentally put her car in drive instead of reverse and crashed into a nearby restaurant.

Emergency services were called to the scene at the Warragul Country Club on Sutton St in Warragul about midday on Tuesday.

Club chief executive Michael Hodge said the incident was “very minor”.

A CFA spokesperson said two CFA units from Warragul attended the scene alongside SES, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.

“No one was trapped,” the spokesperson said.

The incident was deemed under control at 12.09pm then safe at 12.13pm.
