An elderly woman has been injured and taken to a Wonthaggi hospital following a crash on a busy highway in Foster.

An elderly woman has been injured and taken to hospital following a collision on a busy highway in the state’s southeast.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the South Gippsland Hwy in Foster on Tuesday at 3.40pm.

“A woman believed to be in her 70s was transported by road to Bass Coast Regional Health Wonthaggi in a stable condition with minor upper body injuries,” an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.
