A family is mourning the loss of a beloved Nicholson dad who unexpectedly died in his sleep.
At the beginning of February, local farrier Rick Jobling tragically passed away.
Mr Jobling’s seven-year-old daughter Frankie adored her father and the man was described as a dear friend to many people.
Friend Samantha Barton has organised a GoFundMe page to assist the family during their time of grieving, and the fundraiser has raised almost $800 so far.
“Rick left behind many loved ones and loved friends — he was like a father to Frankie’s sisters Shannon, Casey and her brother James,” Ms Barton wrote in the fundraiser.
“Frankie along with her family are absolutely heartbroken and in utter disbelief.”
Ms Barton said Mr Jobling was a big character who loved the little things in life and saw value in laughter and good times.
“As a result of his sudden and unexpected passing, there isn’t much to pass onto little Frankie,” she said.
“We want to raise funds to help support Frankie and her family in this painful time of mourning.”
Ms Barton hopes the money raised can help Frankie as she grows older in a whole new world without her dad by her side.
“Any little bit helps, let’s show this little girl some community love,” Ms Barton wrote.
“Thinking of you all xo,” Donna Fraser commented.
