Punters and racegoers squeezed in one last race day full of festive fun before Christmas at a popular Gippsland racing club.

The Sale Turf Club welcomed crowds to the venue from 11am on Saturday, for their special racing event called “Carols & Barrels”.

Guests were in for a treat, where they enjoyed a thriving environment, refreshing beverages, live entertainment and of course, the horse racing action.

Racegoers dressed in their most funky outfits, where they wore colours of green and red to symbolise the year’s most important holiday.

Special guest appearances also included Melbourne based performing and recording artists “Sam + Sam”, who performed all afternoon to top off what was a massive day at the club.

“The fun doesn’t stop when Santa takes a break with the Summer of Country racing — covering more than 30 feature events from Boxing Day to Australia Day — including 11 country cups and the inaugural Geelong Super Saturday on the Coast metro race meeting on Saturday January 6,” a Country Racing Victoria spokesperson said ahead of the event.

“Each event includes Free Entry for Children, Free supervised Kelly Sports activities and free merchandise show bags for the kids.”
