Bass Coast best hairdresser: Rachel De Ross Nathan from De Boss Beauty

When Rachel De Ross Nathan started her hairdressing apprenticeship at 16-years-old, she thought she wasn’t good enough.

But it was her belated father Julian David De Ross who encouraged her to do finish it.

“Dad was the one that pushed me into my first apprenticeship and wouldn’t let me quit when I felt like I wasn’t good enough,” Mrs De Ross Nathan said.

Now over a decade later, Mrs De Ross Nathan has been hairdressing professionally for 20 years.

“I try really hard to get the results people are wanting and I believe very strongly about continued education for myself to pass on to everyone else,” she said.

“I feel that it is very important to have a strong connection and understanding of my clients.”

Rachel De Ross Nathan has been voted the best hairdresser in the Bass Coast.

Best described as happy and cheerful, Mrs De Ross Nathan enjoys seeing her clients loving their new hair.

“I love that I have the ability to change my clients mood and love seeing them happy when they leave my salon,” she said.

“That is the biggest reward for me.”

Mrs De Ross Nathan opened her Cowes salon De Boss Beauty in March 2016.

She said she will never forget the day her dad said “What’s stopping you from opening your own salon?”

“My Dad was one of my biggest fans along with my husband, kids, extended family and friends,” she said.

“Spending time with him and my family building the salon was so wonderful!”
