Winter Valley woman to face Ballarat court over fatal Carngham Rd, Lucas crash
A Winter Valley woman will face court for alleged dangerous driving over a crash in Lucas that killed her child passenger and injured another.

A Ballarat woman has been charged over a collision in August last year that killed her six-year-old passenger.
A Winter Valley child died at the scene of a crash on Carngham Rd near Finchs Rd in Lucas on August 10, 2024, when a silver Mazda sedan collided with a white Toyota Prado just after 7pm.
The child was a passenger in the Mazda alongside a 13-year-old, both from Winter Valley.
The surviving child and the children’s 42-year-old female driver were flown to hospital.
Police on Monday charged the Winter Valley woman with dangerous driving causing death, driving in a manner dangerous, careless driving, failing to give way at an intersection, and having an unrestrained child.
She will appear in court on Tuesday.
The driver and only occupant of the other vehicle in the crash, a 78-year-old Haddon man, was also hospitalised at the time.
