Tristian Stringer faces Ballarat court over alleged dangerous driving and car thefts
An accused Ballarat thief allegedly stole a BMW and a Land Cruiser not long after he allegedly fled from police by driving through a railway crossing while the boom gates were down.

A Ballarat man allegedly drove through a railway crossing while its boom gates were down and police were chasing him, less than a fortnight before he allegedly stole two cars worth nearly $100,000.
Tristian Stringer, 26 and from Wendouree, appeared in Ballarat Magistrates’ Court from custody on Tuesday.
Documents reveal Mr Stringer was charged with possessing meth and GHB, along with two counts of having a controlled weapon on June 22, 2024.
Police allege that on August 13, he drove a car dangerously and engaged in reckless conduct by going through a railway crossing while the boom gates were down and warning lights and bells were operating, all with a police car in pursuit.
On August 24, Mr Stringer at Bannockburn allegedly stole an $80,000 BMW belonging to a Ballarat dealership, as well as nearly $40 of fuel from Ampol in the same suburb.
The next day he allegedly stole a Toyota Land Cruiser worth $15,000 from Ballarat and possessed a controlled weapon and methamphetamine.
The case will continue on October 16.
