Sunshine North man charged over alleged non-fatal Sebastopol shooting

A 25-year-old has been arrested in Ballarat over an alleged “targeted” shooting in Sebastopol last month.

A Sunshine North man has been charged over an alleged non-fatal shooting in Sebastopol last month.

Emergency services were called to an Edwards St property following reports of gunshots about 1.30am on June 24.

Police found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

He was taken to hospital and treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said on Wednesday they currently believed the incident was “targeted”.

A 25-year-old from Sunshine North was arrested in Ballarat on Wednesday afternoon and charged with offences including home invasion, intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury, and unlicensed driving.

He was due to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court the same evening.

Mobile phones and a taser have also been seized from a Sunshine home.
