Rescue helicopter dispatched to Avoca for man in critical condition

A man whose mower is believed to have sunk in a dam near Ballarat has been flown to hospital in a critical condition.

A man is in a critical condition following an incident north-west of Ballarat on Monday morning.

Paramedics was called to a property at Avoca about 10.30am, where they assessed a man aged in his 60s.

Early reports indicated a vehicle had entered a dam and sank.

The patient was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
