A young woman has been carjacked by balaclava-clad men in Ballarat’s west.
Police have been told a 21-year-old woman was travelling with a male associate in a Hyundai i30 on March 20 when she was asked to make a stop in Lucas Lane, Lucas about 3.15am.
Two men wearing all black and balaclavas approached the car as it stopped, and the woman tried to drive away but was prevented from doing so by her passenger.
She was dragged from the vehicle by the two other men and assaulted.
Police believe her passenger and the two offenders knew each other and fled the scene in the woman’s car.
She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Hyundai was located burnt out near Lake Burrumbeet about 30 minutes later.
The pair who approached the car were driving what was described as a dark coloured Holden sedan.
Anyone with information was urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
