Paedophile Todd Head nabbed with videos of children while inside Emu Creek secure facility

A vile paedophile was nabbed with videos of children after he accessed the internet while under supervision within prison walls.

Todd Head has done stints in various residential facilities including the ‘Village of the Damned’ aka Corella Place.

A serious sex offender nabbed with videos of children after he illegally accessed the internet while inside a secure residential facility has been declared a greater risk of reoffending.

Todd Head, 34, was sentenced in the County Court on Wednesday to a minimum 12 months’ jail after pleading guilty to charges including possessing child abuse material.

Head will shift to the state-of-the-art Rivergum Residential Treatment Centre dubbed the new Village of the Damned after his jail term is complete.

It can now be revealed Head has done stints in various facilities including Corella Place – the original ‘Village of the Damned’.

Head was housed at the Emu Creek residential facility within Langi Kal Kal Prison when he was caught with a mobile phone and an Xbox which could access the internet.

Residents of the 20-bed Emu Creek facility – which operates under the same rules as Corella Place – are allowed a gaming console that is not capable of accessing the internet.

Head, who repeatedly sexually abused a 7-year-old child, inserted a Wi-Fi card into his Xbox One.

Police caught Head with the chip after searching his room in August 2019.

The court heard the console had previously been de-chipped and cleared for use when Head had been housed at Corella Place.

It’s unclear how Head got the chip into the facility after the court was told he had paid for the original chip to be removed.

Head was also nabbed with a data storage cards and a smartphone which contained videos of children.

Police arrested and interviewed Head in March last year.

The serial sicko admitted reinstalling the Wi-Fi chip.

“That was to, so I could use my controller, that was a wireless controller instead of corded,” Head said.

“So basically the stupidest excuse that I’ve ever sort of used.

“I put the chip back in knowing that it would be a possible breach whether I used the

internet or not on the console.”

Head claimed the phone was given to him by another resident the previous year but he never used it.

Head, who was released on summons, also denied knowledge of the SD cards.

The vile fiend was back in trouble after police caught him with a smartphone, an internet capable Xbox and child porn at a Reservoir residential facility in August last year.

Police, who analysed Head’s web history and searched items, discovered the fiend had accessed a vile child abuse site more than 80 times.

Head also searched terms including teen girl f***ing with dog while nobody is home and baby faced blonde teen gets f***ed by a kinky dog.

The sicko was nabbed with child porn which included material that depicted sadism, torture, bestiality or humiliation.

Head was remanded in custody on August 27 last year.

The defence submitted Head had lived a dysfunctional and chaotic childhood, growing up in Gippsland then in Frankston, where he was bullied at school.

The court heard Head has been jailed for court order breaches and possessing child porn multiple times since 2009.

The prolific paedophile had enjoyed various suppression orders which kept his location and identity secret for more than a decade.

However, Judge Michael McInerney abruptly cancelled all orders last month with today’s sentencing being the final nail in Head’s coffin.

Judge McInerney said he was “appalled” at the content of the child abuse material.

“(The material contained) explicit descriptions of children being cruelly sexually exploited and ravished,” he said.

Judge McInerney also said Head’s risk of reoffending had increased rather than decreased which was “highly concerning” considering the treatment had previously undergone.

Head was jailed for a maximum 27 months.

The sicko will head straight to Rivergum located near Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat after his jail sentence is complete.
