Two people implicated in the alleged murder of a Ballarat mother will face trial later this year.

Police found the body of Kobie Parfitt down a Snake Valley mine shaft on December 22, 2020 after more than a week of searching for the 43-year-old.

Ms Parfitt had been last seen at her Hickman St home in Ballarat.

Shannon Jeffrey and Brendon James Prestage have pleaded not guilty to charges relating to Ms Parfitt’s death.

At a directions hearing on Wednesday, it was said that while further hearings will be held in the meantime, a trial date has been set for July in the Supreme Court.

Both accused were remanded in custody.
