A former Loreto College principal, who died on the weekend, has been remembered by the school as a “remarkable teacher, educational leader and recogniser of latent talent”.
Sister Bernadette Ziesing, principal of the college from 1981 to 1989, recently died in Adelaide.
She also led Loreto in Claremont, WA, and was deputy principal at St John XXIII College in NSW.
Loreto College wrote online that under Sister Bernadette, it had “considerable refurbishments and modernisation of buildings and restructuring away from boarding and primary education to secondary day school”.
“Sr Bernadette was a remarkable teacher, educational leader and recogniser of latent talent, with the ability to guide that talent in productive directions,” the school said.
“We keep Sr Bernadette in our thoughts and prayers.”
Commenters said they had “lovely memories of a woman with great foresight and strong leadership” and that the sister was “wonderfully kind and encouraging”.
