A deep fryer has caused a blaze to break out at a takeaway shop on main road in a western Victorian town.
Three firefighting crews are tackling the fire on Inglis St, Ballan, with more on the way.
Emergency services were called to the building fire just after 9am.
Initial reports suggested the fire began at a takeaway shop, with a CFA spokeswoman confirming a deep fryer appeared to be the cause.
The flames then spread to the building’s second floor.
Advanced Life Support paramedics are on scene assessing people.
Police and power and gas company workers are also present.
