Crash on Midland Hwy between Meredith and Elaine leaves two men fighting for life

A driver from Delacombe and his passenger from Armstrong have been hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after crashing into trees on the Midland Highway.

Two men are fighting for life after a crash on a highway southeast of Ballarat.

Police believe a stolen white Nissan Patrol ute travelling northwest on the Midland Hwy between Meredith and Elaine crashed into trees near Doyles Rd about 2.15pm on Monday.

The driver, a 31-year-old Delacombe man, and the passenger, a 30-year-old Armstrong man were both flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking into the circumstances of the crash and urged anyone with information or footage to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or online.
