Alleged bikies accused of being involved in a violent brawl outside a Mildura nightclub earlier this year have fronted court.
The men, aged between 26 and 49, all faced the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
Each man, alleged to be a member of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, is facing charges including assault and affray over two alleged incidents on May 29.
On Tuesday the prosecution struck out the charges against Shane Smith, who is now deceased, and confirmed the brief of evidence had been handed over to all defence lawyers.
It also confirmed CCTV footage of the alleged brawl, which took place about 2.30am, would soon be provided to the defence acting for the remaining eight accused.
The accused — Michael Mazzone, Giovani Liscastro, Mitchell Crump, Joshua Kelly, John Habkouk, Clifford Asciak, Guy Clift and Justin Mason — are all on bail and mostly appeared in court via video link from South Australia.
However, the court heard two accused had traveled to Mildura for the brief hearing.
The magistrate extended each accused’s bail and ordered they all travel to Mildura for the next hearing.
“This is a significant court event and I expect everyone will be here,” she said.
All eight men will appear in court for a half-day contest mention in November.
