Two young women were allegedly robbed at knifepoint during an attack in a Lavington park.
Police said the two women – aged 20 and 21 – had arranged to meet a friend at Jelbart Park in Moore St, Lavington, between 8pm and 8.20pm on Monday June 7.
While waiting, the women were allegedly approached by a man who threatened the younger woman with a knife, while demanding cash from both of them.
The man stole cash and fled the scene in a vehicle.
Following police inquiries, officers attended a home on Kokoda St, North Albury, about 9.20am on Tuesday June 8 where they located a 23-year-old man in a shed.
The man was arrested and a knife was seized.
He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon without a permit.
The man appeared in Albury Local Court on Tuesday where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on August 3.
