Sandy Creek man tasered after allegedly starting illegal fire, assaulting CFA volunteer
Police were forced to taser a man who allegedly assaulted a CFA volunteer trying to put out his illegally lit fire northeast of Wodonga.

Wodonga police arrested a local man after he allegedly assaulted a CFA volunteer who was trying to put out his illegally lit burn-off.
The CFA volunteer was allegedly assaulted while trying to douse the flames of the illegal fire in Sandy Creek, northeast of Wodonga, on Sunday night.
The alleged offender, a 56-year-old Sandy Creek man, was tasered and subdued with capsicum spray after he resisted arrest.
Firefighters attended the residence after reports of a fire at a property on Sandy Creek Road at 9pm.
The volunteer, a 47-year-old Sandy Creek man, received minor injuries.
The alleged offender has been charged with assaulting an emergency services worker while on duty, two counts of resisting police and lighting a fire during a prohibited period.
He was bailed to appear at the Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on the May 10.
