Ricky Williams: Man charged with murder over Wangaratta woman Carmen Niklaus’ death
An Everton man charged with the alleged murder of Wangaratta woman Carmen Niklaus at a caravan park has appeared in court where his lawyer has detailed his battle after an injury.

Lawyers acting on behalf of the accused murderer of Carmen Niklaus said he had acquired a brain injury and was struggling with his mental health.
Ricky Williams, 43, has been charged with a single count of murder over the death of Wangaratta woman Carmen Niklaus.
Ms Niklaus, 40, was found dead on Monday night at the Everton Caravan and Tourist Park.
Williams’ lawyer Sally Williams said Mr Williams was not on medication and did not have drug issues, and that “he’s had great difficulty sleeping in the cells”.
Emergency crews responded to calls for help on Monday at about 7.10pm but were unable to revive Ms Niklaus.
Investigators confirmed he and Ms Niklaus knew each other and that no other suspects are wanted.
Mr Williams will return to court for a committal mention on April 7 next year.
