You asked, and they delivered — The Body Shop is opening a new store in Albury.
Albury-Wodonga’s first The Body Shop store will be located in Myer Centrepoint opposite Woolworths.
It will open at 9am on June 26 and the first 200 customers will receive a free gift with any purchase.
The store will be an “activist workshop” including an “activism corner” where consumers can discover the brand’s roots as well as campaign for social change.
“Our new Albury store showcases the best of The Body Shop’s values and our commitment to getting to work in authentic and tangible ways,” The Body Shop brand and activism director Shannon Chrisp said.
“This new concept store amplifies our activist roots in a way that truly engages customers in the stories behind our products and encourages them to join us in fighting for a fairer and more beautiful world.
“We want our customers to roll up their sleeves and play with products made from real, raw and sustainable ingredients and to participate in entry-level activism – whether that be through understanding the impact of Community Fair Trade sourcing, learning about gender inequality around the world, signing a petition or challenging their biases through critical conversation.’’
Staying true to the brands environmentalist values the new store has been fitted with reclaimed wood and recycled plastics to minimise its environmental footprint.
There’s also a metal facade constructed in aluminium, an eco-friendly material.
Customers who spend $60 or more can upgrade their gift to a free gift bag worth $39 including a selection of The Body Shop favourites.
