Regional Vic records 153 new Covid cases

Regional Victoria has recorded 153 new Covid cases, around eight per cent of the state’s cases. See the hot spots.

Victorian quarantine rules set to change from Thursday

Regional Victoria recorded 153 Covid cases overnight, around eight per cent of the state’s 1749 new cases.

Victoria’s Covid commander Jeroen Weimar said of the 22 new cases in Bendigo, a gym and hairdressers had generated significant exposure.

While he also said he was pleased to see Wodonga record just three new cases overnight.

Of the 153 new cases in regional Victoria, there were:

  • 2 in Ballarat
  • 2 in Bass Coast
  • 9 in Baw Baw
  • 1 in Campaspe
  • 1 in Colac-Otway
  • 1 in Corangamite
  • 1 in Gannawarra
  • 22 in Greater Bendigo
  • 21 in Greater Geelong
  • 14 in Greater Shepparton
  • 9 in Latrobe
  • 5 in Macedon Ranges
  • 15 in Mildura
  • 23 in Mitchell
  • 1 in Moira
  • 7 in Moorabool
  • 2 in Moyne
  • 1 in Strathbogie
  • 1 in Surf Coast
  • 6 in Swan Hill
  • 5 in Wangaratta
  • 3 in Wodonga

Mr Weimar said all of Geelong’s cases were connected with the new positives in Mildura with two new households but they are linked to other cases.

The majority of cases in Mitchell Shire are linked but four remain under review.
