Harris Farm Markets: Albury store gets ready to open
After months of construction, the hiring process has begun as a gourmet grocer gets ready to open in Albury. Find out when you’ll be able to step inside.

After months of construction and COVID-19 delays, gourmet grocer Harris Farm Markets is getting ready to open its Albury store.
At 4500sq m, the Young St store will be the up-market grocer’s biggest store yet, at least twice the size of any other store.
After being delayed due to the pandemic, the Harris Farm Markets Albury store is set to open in January 2021.
Harris Farm Markets co-chief executive Tristan Harris said he hope opening in the new year would mean easier access for shoppers from both the Albury and Wodonga regions.
“Albury is a great town, we visit lots of regional areas and Albury is like a beautifully maintained suburb of the wealthier parts of Sydney,” Mr Harris said.
“It’s a really nice environment and that‘s the kind of environment that works for us.
“We go scouting for sites and we think this site is an absolute cracker — we’re super excited about it.”
While the Albury store has been in the works for a few years, Mr Harris said construction started about three months ago.
“All of our more recent stores have been more concept stores, we do a bespoke design job on every one,” he said.
“We’ve been able to let our imaginations run wild at this store.
“It’s a lot of fun to design this store because there’s so much space.
“We’re super excited about what we think is going to be a terrific customer experience.”
With up to 140 jobs available at the store, Mr Harris said the recruitment process started earlier this month.
“We had a team in Albury doing interviews last week,” he said.
“We’re going to take about 15 people from Sydney and everyone else will be local.”
